I'm a tech geek big enough, and the stuff of intelligent House has become a big concern to me recently. I can control my sprinklers and the garage door from my phone/PC and wanted to do the same with my thermostat. I had looked in the nest and ecobee smart thermostats, but both had limitations that held me back from actually buying them (see below). I bought this to replace a non-programmable thermostat white-Rodgers (it looks like this one: [] this product is a substitute for good. I bought my home with an 80% efficiency gas heater installed (Trane, about 7 years ago), but no air conditioning. about a month ago, I had air conditioning installed (vector). the chronothermostat has become annoying because it got too hot during the day and too cold at night, depending on the direction in which I changed the temperature
